Consumers’ friendly environment to be developed in PESCO: Chief

Peshawar: PESCO Chief Anwar Ul Haq Yousafzai Wednesday said that efforts have been taken to make ensure promotion of consumers’ friendly environment in PESCO.

The assurance of adopting consumer’s friendly approach in PESCO was given by him to the members of the Board of Directors PESCO and former World Champion Qamar Zaman during a meeting held at Wapda House Peshawar on Wednesday.

He informed Qamar Zaman that a comprehensive plan has been chalked out for bringing major decrease in load-shedding duration besides taking stern action again those involved in Kunda Culture.

“We will be taking stern action Kunda Culture mafia who are giving millions of rupees losses to the government,” he said, adding that it should be discharge at all level. He said good consumers would be facilitated. He said the problem of load-shedding has already been addressed in the area where no use of Kunda and other unfair means.

PESCO chief said the organization is checking electricity meters and all the defective meters will be removed on priority basis. “We are here to facilitate our valuable consumers who are regularly paying their utility bills in time,” he said.

He said overbilling will not be tolerated at PESCO level and action would also be taken against those found guilty in overbilling. “We believe in actual billing so that not to bother our valuable consumers,” he remarked.

He said PESCO has already launched drive against illegal use of electricity more vigorous as PESCO Peshawar Surveillance team raided in different areas all across provincial capital by identifying different power pilferage of the commercial as well as domestic users.

When informed by former World Champion Qamar Zaman that Nasir Iqbal, a PESCO Wapda player, won gold medal in recently in the squash individual event of the 12th South Asian Games, PESCO Chief congratulated Nasir Iqbal of winning gold medal.

PESCO Chief Anwar Ul Haq Yousafzai said that a reception in this connection would soon be arranged in the honour of Pakistan No. 1 squash player Nasir Iqbal, hailing from PESCO Wapda and would be awarded cash prize as well.

Qamar Zaman thanked the newly appointed PESCO Chief Anwar Ul Haq Yousafzai and termed it every good for the encouragements of the young upcoming players besides promoting healthy sports activities. PESCO Chief said that he is very keen to promote the talented sportsperson.
