ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ambassador at UN Dr Maleeha Lodhi has called for comprehensive planning to prevent violent extremism from the world.

Addressing a debate on strategy for the prevention of violent extremism at UN General Assembly in New York, she said injustice, backwardness and economic deprivation are major causes of extremism.

She said indigenous and external factors promote extremism and terrorism in the society. She said terrorist exploit right to self-determination and injustice for their nefarious designs and factors inciting violence should not be given less attention.
