Govt takes step to implement uniform color code of private security guards

KARACHI: The Home Department Sindh has under Section 144(6) Cr.P.C. imposed complete ban with immediate effect throughout Sindh province on the following activities:

a. Wearing of uniform by the guards of security agencies resembling with police and other law enforcement agencies,

b. Wearing of black uniform by the guards of security agencies instead of prescribed blue uniform as approved by the Home Department Sindh,

c. Wearing of black uniform by the private guards other than the security agencies and

d. Carrying of weapon without attested copy of license/documents duly countersigned by senior official of the company.

The action has been initiated on the ground that during checking of various security companies it is frequently found that guards are violating the rules as well as federal government instructions.

The SHOs of the concerned police stations are authorized to register the complaints under Section 188 P.P.C. in writing for the violation of Section 144 Cr.P.C. against the violators.
