Uniform syllabus, medium of education in all schools urged

KARACHI: Nisar Khuhro, Sindh Minister for Education had a courtesy call on Shaukat Ahmed, Acting President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) at Federation House, Karachi and discussed the matters of mutual interest particularly related to the education. During the meeting various proposals and suggestions came under discussion for improvement in literacy rate and upgrading of existing educational standard in the country in general and in the Sindh Province in particular.

FPCCI Acting President Shaukat Ahamad also informed that the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Department of FPCCI is significantly contributing towards the promotional activities of education. He added that this department has adopted many schools and providing quality education free of cost to the children at large. He underscored the need for a uniform syllabus and medium of education in all schools in public and private sector indiscriminately.

Nisar Khuhro said that his Ministry has taken necessary steps against ghost schools and teachers / staff. He further informed that the Government of Sindh is determined to expand and standardize the education level in entire province of Sindh without any discrimination. He further said that all necessary transparent steps have been taken for the hiring of teachers purely on merit basis.

The Provincial Minister also appreciated the role of FPCCI in the education sector as it plays a pivotal role in the development of any society and in economic development of a country. He explained that a man behind a sophisticated machine is as important as the machine.

The meeting was also attended by Khurram Sayeed and Imtiaz Shaikh, Vice Presidents of FPCCI and Haji Shafiq-ur-Rehman, Waseem-ur-Rehman, Muhammad Shiraz and Ms. Farhana Iqbal, Chairperson of the FPCCI Standing Committee on CSR.
