Work on health deptt’s 120 schemes underway

KARACHI: Provincial minister health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that as many as 120 development schemes are going on in health department, out of which 34 are new schemes.

This he said while talking to various delegations here at his residence. He said that Shaheed Benazir Trauma Centre at the cost of Rs 6082.9 million, Neoru complex at CMCH Larkana at the cost of Rs 214.23 million, and upgradation of surgery department at CMCH Larkana would be completed till June 2016.

The health minister added:”Services Hospital Karachi is being improved and upgraded at the cost of Rs 162.477 million, extension in urban health centres Malir, Keamari and Korangi Karachi at the cost of Rs 478.26 million, establishment of Paeds centre in Mirpurkhas at cost of Rs 119.97 million, Allied Facilities at Jacobabad Institute of Medical Sciences at the cost of Rs 478.26 million and other schemes in districts N. Froze, Jamshoro, Badin and T.M.Khan worth millions rupees will be completed during current fiscal year in order to benefit the patients.”

Dahar directed the officers concerned to complete the schemes on time to save public money. In a meeting Dengue Control Program Manager Sindh Dr Masood Solangi while presenting weekly report briefed the provincial health minister that during last week as many 20 cases of dengue diagnosed patients were reported all over Sindh, out which 16 belong to Karachi while two patients were reported from Hyderabad and each one from Shaheed Benazirabad and Sukkur.

The health minister was further informed that so far 237 patients affected by dengue virus had been reported since January 2016. However, the minister health directed program manager to speed up drive against dengue virus.
