Akhtar Mengal writes letter to CJP

QUETTA: President Balochistan National party and former provincial; chief minister Sardar Akhtar Mengal has appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry establishment of peace in Balochistan should be included in the priorities. There is need for comprehensive resolution of political and social matters of the province.

He made this appeal in a letter written to Chief Justice Sunday.

He said since 1971 no free, fair and transparent elections were held in Balochistan. Establishment did every efforts to stop people’s representatives form going to election. He said there is comprehensive need of resolving Baluchistan’s political and social matters. Chief Justice should include restoration of peace in his priorities.

Taking initiative Supreme Court can hold talks between Federation and Balochistan for resolving disputes.

He said he was concerned overacts of terrorism, missing persons, economic situation. He said those pushed Balochistan to the brink of collapse should be taken to task.
