District: Proclaimed offender arrested

Sialkot: The Sialkot police arrested a notorious proclaimed offender (PO) a hired killer Fahad Ghumman bearing head money of Rs. 0.2 million from suburban areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa. Sialkot District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Gohar Nafees disclosed this while addressing a largely attended press conference at his office. SP(Investigation) Sialkot Asad Sarfraz Khan, DSP City Sialkot Maqsud Ahmed Lone and senior member of Sialkot District Peace Committee Zafar Malik were also present on this occasion.

DPO added that a team of Sialkot police led by sub inspector Khalid Warya raided at different dens in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa and arrested the accused from there. DPO revealed that the accused Fahad Ghumman was wanted by police in 16 cases of murder , as he had been a hired killer. He had killed Hafiz Muhammad Shoaib at Govt. Murray College Sialkot in 2004, a trader Mohsin Butt at Hajipura-Sialkot in 2006 a trader Khalid Mehmood at Daska City in 2007, a shopkeeper Mehar Yasir at Naikapura-Sialkot in 2008, a travel agent Khawaja Lolaak Bashir (owner of Raj Travels) on Kutchery Road Sialkot in 2010, a milkman Amjad alias Billa in Rangpura-Sialkot in 2011 he also killed village Kharkaana-Sialkot based two youths Raheem alias Sain and Shehbaz on Khawaja Safdar Road Sialkot Cantt in February 2013, besides, killing two more travel agents Shahid and Aamir (the brothers of the slain travel agent Khawaja Lolaak Bashir) while spraying bullets at their travel agency in Sialkot city’s congested Kutchery Road locality here on October 30 2013.

DPO revealed that the police have also arrested as many as thirteen more accused , the companions of the accused Fahad Ghumman, from the different parts of Sialkot district, as these accused directly or indirectly involved in the above-mentioned murder cases, in this regard. DPO said that accused hired killer Fahad Ghumman’s ten more main companions including Shehzad alias Leesha, Chaand Butt, Irfan Butt, Rizwan Butt, Ashfaq alias Cheetah, Maqbool alias Bhola and Ansar Sultan had already escaped to abroad and Sialkot police are contacting the Interpol for the early arrest of these fugitive accused. The Punjab government had already announced a head money of Rs.0.2 million for the accused.
