Gallup: 89% Pakistani drink homemade lassi: Survey

Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan 71% of Pakistanis said that they drink lassi at home of these, 89% drink homemade lassi and 10% buy it from the market.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Is lassi consumed at your home?” In response, 71% said yes and 29% said no. Those who said “yes” were further asked “Do you consume homemade lassi or buy it from the market?” Responding to this, 89% responded homemade lassi and 10% said they buy lassi from the market. However, % did not give a response. A comparison of responses between rural and urban districts shows that more urban consumers of lassi purchase it from the market (15%) than rural ones (7%).

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2646 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during June 17 to 24 June.
