Govt serious to resolve Badin grower’s issues: DC

KARACHI: Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Jamal Mustafa Syed while talking to official media today here at Hyderabad has said that Sindh government was very much serious to resolve the problems faced by growers of Badin specially those who were experiencing water shortage at tail end.

He said now the plan of action had been changed and Growers Vigilance Committees had been enforced to monitor and recommend the action against water theft. He said that the representatives of the growers, who were on agitation, had been nominated in the Growers Vigilance Teams not only to restore their confidence but also water at the tail end as well.

Jamal said that he had made various visits to the tail end areas of Badin and had interaction with the affected growers. He said that now they had enforced four Growers Vigilance Teams with one representative from Revenue Department, District Police and Irrigation Department from unrelated areas as per recommendations of the growers to locate, identify the act of water theft and persons involved in this crime.

He assured the growers that not only FIR would be lodged against those landlords / Irrigation officers who found involved in water theft but they would also be arrested and brought to the justice. This he announced while addressing an open katchery and talking to the affected growers of tail end and media men at Village Wali Muhammad Zangejo Zangejo Mori, Taluka Tando Bago, and District Badin today.
