ICCBSKU, Nigeria varsity inks MoU

Karachi: International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences ICCBS has inked a Memorandum of Understanding MoU with the Adamawa State University, Mubi, Nigeria, to initiate academic exchange and scientific cooperation between both the institutions.

Director ICCBS Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhary on behalf of the international centre and Vice-chancellor Adamawa State University Prof. Alkasum Abba signed the MoU in a special signing ceremony, held at Dr. Panjwani Centre ofr Molecular Medicine and Drug Research, KU here on Friday. On the occasion, ICCBS International Research Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ahsana Dar Farooq, Registrar Adamawa State University Mrs. Garnvwa Jinatu Medina, Dr. Zaruwa Moseszira and other faculty members of ICCBS were also present.

Dr. Choudhary said that Karachi University is recognized as the premier establishment of higher learning and research in the subcontinent and in the developing world, graded as 233 in world ranking of Universities in natural sciences, while the ICCBS is one of the best higher learning institutions of the varsity.

Prof. Alkasum Abba praised the research facilities and standard of the ICCBS, and said that it is very appreciable that the young scientists are playing pivotal role in the academic and research activities at the international centre. ICCBS has very sophisticated research instruments and quality faculty that made me realized that Pakistan has done remarkable in the field of higher education and research.

He said that the collaboration with ICCBS will definitely enhance the horizon of our faculty members. He said that the primary aim of the accord was to initiate and promote scientific cooperation and academic exchange in various fields of sciences between both the institutions.

As per MoU, it was also agreed that bi-national workshops/seminar/ conferences will be organised jointly to develop linkages between academicians and researchers. This agreement will be effective for a period of five years from the date of signing. This MoU may be terminated by either party by written notice at least three months.
