MA Shaikh relinquishes DCET principal charge

KARACHI: Dr Mohammad Ali Shaikh, Vice Chancellor of Sind Madressatul Islam University (SMIU), who had also additional charge of Principal Dawood College of Engineering and Technology (DCET), has relinquished his charge as principal.

He wrote to chief secretary Sind on 9 March 2013 that the post of DCET principal has ceased to exist with promulgation of Dawood University of Engineering and Technology Act 2013, passed by Sind Assembly on 27 February and subsequently assented to Sind governor, hence, he relinquishes his charge as DCET principal.

He also wrote that the competent authority may consider appointing Vice Chancellor for the new engineering university at the earliest in accordance with the Section 13 of Dawood University of Engineering and Technology Act 2013.
