Minster asks ulema to highlight true image of Islam

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Zakat, Auqaf and Religious Affairs, Haji Habibur Rahman has asked the ulema and religious scholars to come forward and play their effective role in the elimination of religious hatred and sectarianism from the society by highlighting the real image of Islam in the minds of general public.

This, he said, while talking to a delegation of Tehsil Khateebs of Auqaf Department at his office on Wednesday. The provincial minister said that secular forces wanted to take advantage of the petty differences existed in the ranks of religious scholars and it was the need of the hour that they get united on a single platform to foil their nefarious designs.

“Islam is the religion of peace, love and brotherhood and religious scholars are duty bound to guide the society in the right direction and give special attention to the spiritual and moral reformation of the common people”, he added.

Referring to their demand about service structure, Haji Habib ur Rahman assured the delegation that it would be given due consideration adding that a meeting of the concerned officials would be convened to resolve the issue once for all.

The delegation thanked the minister for taking keen interest in the resolution of their problems and assured him all out cooperation for maintaining religious harmony in the society.
