NA Saudi Arabian Ambassador calls on Deputy Speaker, National Assembly

Islamabad: Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Deputy Speaker, National Assembly has said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoyed unique cordial relations and Pakistan wanted to further strengthening the existing bilateral relations through enhanced Parliamentary and economic cooperation. He expressed these views while talking to the Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Islamabad Mr. Abdul Aziz Bin Ibrahim Bin Salih Al-Ghadeer who called on him in Parliament House on Thursday.

The Deputy Speaker said that Pakistan attaches immense importance to its relations with Saudi Arabia since both the countries were tied in eternal bonds of religion, brotherhood, history and culture.

He said that people of Pakistan have great attachment with Saudi Arabia and every year a large number of Pakistani visited Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj and Umrah and for the Ziyarat of Harmain Sharifain. He said that both the countries have similar perceptions over important regional and global issues and Saudi Arabia always supported Pakistan’s stand at every forum. He appreciated the unwavering support of Saudi government to Pakistan as and when required.

He underlined the need for enhanced interaction between the parliamentarians of both the country to further strengthening the relations between the two brotherly countries.

The Saudi Ambassador congratulated Murtaza Javed Abbasi on his election as the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan. He appreciated the sentiments of the Deputy Speaker and assured his Government’s allout support to Pakistan in diverse fields. He said that Saudi Shoora was also keen to enhance its cooperation with National Assembly of Pakistan and in this connection Saudi-Pak friendship group has been established in Saudi Shoora.

He was confident that fraternal relations between both the countries would further cemented by frequent interaction between the parliamentarians of both the countries. While appreciating the services of Pakistani community residing in Saudi Arabia he said that a large number of Pakistani emigrants residing in Saudi Arabia were playing an important role in progress and development of Saudi Arabia. He also extended invitation to Deputy Speaker to visit Saudi Arabia.
