Power outages hit Benazir’s hometown

RATODERO: The hometown of Bhutto leaders, Naundero, suffered unprecedented power outage on Sunday night in this holy month of Ramazan as the electricity was supplied to Sukkur by Naundero Grid station Incharge.

According to reliable sources, Waryal Shah, I/C of the grid station despite carrying out announced load shedding timings resorted to unscheduled shut down from 8.30pm to 10.30pm on Sunday night and again on 12.30am to 2.30am due to which the people who were busy in offering Taraveeh prayers became completely watered and suffered badly but worst affected were those who were indisposed and suffering from various ailments including cardiac problems.

When contacted, Waryal Shah told reporters that one of the transformers was not working properly hence shut-down was made. Asked as to how the electricity is going on in other areas/feeders of the grid station, he had no reply which showed that he was lying and involved in maligning the ruling government by resorting to unscheduled electricity breakdown at his will as Federal Water & Power Minister Khuwaja Asif had already announced that there would be no unannounced load shedding in the country as supply had improved but despite these clear orders his directives were being violated openly in the home town of Benazir Bhutto. This all is being done by the I/C of the grid station in addition to the frequent tripping and usual faults due to which the power outage period has increased manifold from the announced load shedding timings.

The people of Naundero have demanded inquiry against the incharge of the grid station and shifting him to other area otherwise protest movement will be launched. PPI.
