Seminary teacher, woman among victims of Karachi violence

KARACHI: Ten people including a seminary teacher and a woman were killed and nine others injured in separate incidents of firing in the city on Wednesday.

According to police, unidentified assailants riding on motorbikes opened fire near the parking plaza in Saddar, killing a seminary teacher, Asadullah, 30, son of Ibrahim. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre JPMC.

Rescue sources said that an unidentified man was killed in Orangi No 1. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital ASH.

A 20yearold man, Rehan, son of Mohammad Usman, was gunned down near Korangi 5½. The body was shifted to JPMC for an autopsy.

In another incident, a 25yearold unidentified man was killed in Dates Bazaar area of Lee Market. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi.

Unidentified men opened fire near Usmanabad area, within the limits of Garden police station, killing two people and injuring one other. The victims were identified as Akhter, 50, and Latif, 30 while the injured Jahangir, 60, son of Amirullah. The bodies and injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi.

A 45yearold woman, Zulaikha, wife of Aslam, was shot dead in Agra Taj Colony area of Lyari by unidentified men. The body was shifted to hospital.

A 35yearold unidentified man was killed in Khuda ki Basti area of Surjani Town. The body was shifted to ASH for an autopsy.

Unidentified men opened fire on a car in Metroville area of SITE Town, killing one Anwar, 30, son of Abdullah.

An unidentified man, aged 45, was killed near Indus Plaza along Superhighway. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

A woman and his child sustained bullet wounds in Machhar Colony when unidentified men opened fire on them. The injured were identified as Rahima Khatoon, 30, and Hussain, 12. They were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.

Unidentified assailants riding motorbikes opened fire and injured two people in Korangi Sector 11. The deceased were shifted to JPMC for treatment.

Two people, 25yearsold Gul Khan, son of Asghar, and 20yearsold Imran, son of Faiz, suffered bullet wounds near Alasif Square. The injured were shifted to JPMC.

A person, Abdul Ghafoor, son of Dushanbe, was injured in Lyari’s Kalri area. He was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi.

Unidentified men opened fire near Quaidabad bus stop, injuring 25yearsold Faisal. He was shifted to JPMC for treatment.

A 28yearold Saleem Ahmed, son of Shamim Ahmed, was shot and injured when unidentified men opened fire near his house in Sector Mansoor Nagar area of Orangi Town. The injured was shifted to ASH for treatment.
