Traders’ convention calls for 10% assemblies tickets, Urdu magazine of ‘Small Traders’ launched

LAHORE: The speakers at national convention of the All Pakistan AnjumaneTajiran observed that approval of trade organization bill 2012 has given the chance for the formation of chambers of small traders and now small traders will not allow the chambers of elite to deprive them of their rights.

All Pakistan AnjumaneTajiran held the reception in honour of the members of National Assembly and Senate Standing Committees for Commerce to pay them tribute for the achievement of the historical task of Trade Organization Act.

The reception was graced and addressed among others by Senator Islaumuddin Sheikh, Dr Farooq Sattar, Senator Abdul Haseeb and Kh Suhail Mansoor.

Besides, APAT Central chairman Kh Shafiq, president Mian Mannan, general secretary Naeem Mir, APAT Islamabad president Ajmal Baloch, chairman Sindh Tajir Ittehad Jamil Paracha, APAT Sindh president Abdul Qayyum Qureshi, APAT Balochistan president Abdul Rahim Kakar, APAT Punjab president Ch Mehboob Sirki, APAT AJK president Abdul Razzaq Khan and all districts and divisional head of the APAT participated in the convention.

The new Urdu magazine of with the name of ‘Small Traders was also launched on the occasion which will represent the Chamber of Small Traders and Cottage Industry as well as the APAT all over the country. The presentation on Chambers of Small Traders will also made on multimedia. Kh Shafiq administered the oath to the newlyelected officebearers of APAT Lahore.

Traders convention unanimously passed a resolution which was signed by the APAT all provinces head, besides Islamabad and AJK chiefs.

The speakers said that if struggle for Small Traders was sabotaged the APAT will fight till end. Moreover, political parties were also warned to support small traders otherwise they will be deprived off vote bank of more than 800 million small traders in the country.

The parties were also asked to allocate at least 10 percent share of small traders for assemblies tickets so that business community could directly be involved for resolution of business related issues.

All Pakistan AnjumaneTajiran central chairman Khawaja Shafiq, president Mian Mannan and general secretary Naeem Mir reacting strongly to the allegation of tax evasion by small traders, said that present chambers do nothing for the cause of traders except blackmailing and boosting their own businesses through SROs.

They criticized decisions of the country’s major chambers, during a meeting held recently in Bhurban, and said that it has sent a wave of shock among small traders, who have decided to launch a special drive for the formation of chambers of small traders.
