TV cameraman among two killed in Karachi violence

KARACHI: Two people including a cameraman of a news channel were killed and four others including Rangers personnel injured in separate incidents of violence in the city on Monday.

According to rescue sources, the bodies of a man and woman having their throats slit were found near Check-post No 6 area of Malir Cantt. The male victim was identified as Majid. He was a cameraman of a private television channel. The identity of the slain woman was not yet known. The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities

Unidentified men opened fire in Banaras Colony area of SITE Town, injuring two people. The injured were identified as Akhter Ali, 25, son of Sadaqat Ali and Haroon, 8. They were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.

Two Rangers personnel sustained bullet wounds in Gulzar-e-Hijri area of the city. The identities of the security personnel were not yet known. They were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
