Vacation notice issued to 41 medical college colony allottees

Ratodero: The Principal, Chandka Medical College (CMC), Larkana, has issued a notice directing as many as 41 allottees of CMC colonies to vacate their quarters within one week positively and handover their possession to College authorities.

In case of failure strict action will be taken against the violators as per government rules, the further warned.

According to reliable sources during the agitation by the paramedical staff association office bearers of the College and SHEWA University employees association against the former Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU), Prof: Akbar Haider Soomro, and to resolve the issues, the Larkana Commissioner held parleys with them during which it was demanded by the office bearers of the employees associations that all College quarters and bungalows allotted to outsiders or other department employees must be got vacated so that the same could be allotted to the employees of SMBBMU and CMC and it was unanimously agreed by the CMC & SMBBMU authorities.

Keeping in view this decision all the allotments of CMC quarters and bungalows were cancelled by the CMC Principal through an office order dated: 15.1.2013 and now they have asked the occupants to vacate the premises or face the consequences.

It is learnt that many quarters & bungalows of Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) are also occupied by College employees because of the fact that in the past Sindh Government posted one person as Medical Superintendent & Principal who used everything in his power without considering the fact the it will create lot of problems in the future as both institutions have separate budget allocations and posts and their property is also different.

Sources said that many CMCH bungalows and quarters are also allotted to different employees of the College for which the CMCH Medical Superintendent will also have to formulate a clear policy afresh to accommodate his ejected employees so that problem stands resolved otherwise it is feared that it will further aggravate the situation.

Shahi Khan Jagirani and Zulfiqar Sahto, President & General Secretary of Paramedical Staff Association of CMCH chapter told PPI that it is correct that these allotments were made in the past during the posting of one Principal who was also holding the charge of MS CMCH.

They said that administratively the CMC authorities should first order their employees to vacate their (CMCH) quarters and bungalows so that CMCH can allocate the same to their employees.

They further alleged that Marvi Hostel and Aseefa Dental College plot & building belongs to CMCH which they will have to vacate besides those quarters and bungalows which are now occupied by the employees of CMC whether they are low paid employees or doctors.
