1 Four more killed in Karachi violence

KARACHI: Four persons were killed and four others injured in separate incidents of violence in the city on Wednesday.

An alleged terrorist, named Bhaloo, 25, was killed in a police encounter during a raid in Orangi Town.

According to rescue and police sources, two accused were killed in retaliator firing by police. Police said on a tip-off, police conducted a raid in Mauripur area and during encounter, killed an accused Bhaloo. The police also claimed to have arrested two of his accomplices.

The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.

In another incident, Mohammad Qasim, 30, son of Mushtaq, was shot dead by unknown armed men near Sector 17/A, Shah Latif.

The body was brought to JPMC for an autopsy.

SHO Shah Latif said that unidentified armed men shot dead Mohammad Qasim.

Yet in another incident, an unknown man was shot dead by some miscreants near Truck Terminal, Mauripur area. The body was shifted to CHK for an autopsy.

The three-day-old body with severe torture marks was recovered near Hub River near Hamdard University.

The deceased was identified as Soomro, son of Zaman, aged 45. However more details could not be ascertained.

Meanwhile, SHO Site Area said that Salman, 22, son of Ayaz, resident of Baldia, was shot and injured by unidentified armed men near Siemens Chowrangi. He was brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment. The motive behind attack was resistance over snatching.

Separately, two persons, Mohammad Zakir, 46, son of Abdul Mannan, and Osman, 40, son of Mohammad Akil, were shot and injured by two unknown armed motorcyclists on Mazedar Food Street at Anda Morr, North Karachi.

The injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital Karachi in critical condition for treatment. The motive behind the incident could not be ascertained yet.

Moreover, Afzal, 30, son of Mohammad Akram, was shot and injured by unidentified armed motorcyclist in Usmanabad, Dhobi Ghat area. He was taken to CHK for treatment.
