100 city roads need urgent repair to control traffic jams: DIG

KARACHI: Deputy Inspector General of Traffic Police Karachi, Dr Amir Ahmed Shaikh, said on Tuesday that at least 100 roads in Karachi are damaged at different places, which are causing traffic jams and creating trouble for motorists and commuters in the city.

Dr Amir said these damaged roads depict the real image of authorities who have ignored them in every government. He said it is a dire need to repair these damaged roads on urgent basis so as e smooth flow of traffic could be ensured in the metropolis.

He said survey statistics showed that the partially damaged roads in South District are 36, Central 20, East 22; West 14 and Malir 08 and their concerned authorities are KMC and NHA.

The partially damaged roads include MA Jinnah Road at Motan Das Market, Junction of Saleh Mohammad Street, G Allana Chowk opposite Edhi Center; Baba-e-Urdu Road’s Steel Market, CM School to Chand Bibi Chowk point; Nishtar Road’s Khanam Moter Training School near Lasbella Light Signal needs carpeting from Lasbella to love lane light signal and Business Recorder Road’s Fatima Cut towards Guru Mandir point.
