1000 lady police constables will also be recruited soon: IGP

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Women Development and Special Education Ms Rubina Qaim Khani has announced that more women police stations would be established in five districts of Sindh besides the counters of women development department would also be established to facilitate the issues relating to women.

She announced this in a press conference on the issues of women held along with IGP Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamali at her office on Wednesday Sindh. She said that the women police stations would be established in Thatta, Uerkot, Sanghar, Nawabshah and Khairpur.

The minister said that the directives had already been issued to the department to set up counters of the women development department in newly established women police stations including Karachi.

Rubina said it was also desires of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to redress the issues related to women of Sindh on priority bases.

She further said that trained lady police staff would also be posted in newly established police stations.

On the occasion, IGP said that 1000 lady police constables would be recruited soon.

Earlier, Rubina held a meeting with IGP and discussed the issues related to the women. It was decided in the meeting that the women police stations would be empowered more and all the basic facilities would also be provided.
