Toyota Dream Car Art Contest is a global competition, organized annually by TMC, Japan and Indus Motor Company (IMC) has been organizing it in Pakistan since 2011 as part of the global Toyota initiative.
This year, Indus Motor Company (IMC) has invited its dealerships to partake in this activity with a special focus on the participation of under privileged children and children with special needs.
Speaking about the contest, IMC representative said, “Out of 875,000 artworks submitted from across the globe in 2014, 15,800 entries were received from Pakistan, making us the 6th highest participant in the world. The main objective behind this initiative is to build and strengthen relationships between our car dealers and the local communities. It is aimed at developing the Toyota brand awareness, affinity and association among young people.”
He further added that the contest is open to all children under 16 years of age, and is divided into three categories. The first category is for under 8 years old children, the second and third categories are for 8 to 11 and 12 to 15 years old children, respectively. However this year the focus is also on children with special needs, who have little or no exposure to such activities. For this purpose, a special category namely “Royal Category” has been established to accommodate the special children.
The contest is held in two sections, the Local Contest, organized by Indus Motor Company followed by the World Contest organized by Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan. A total of nine drawings, three from each category are selected from across Pakistan by a panel of independent jurors which are later submitted in the World Contest held in Japan.
This global contest is intended to create opportunities for children, offering them a platform to develop their interest in cars and expressing their creativity and imagination by drawing the “car of their dreams”.
