16 killed, 55 injured in Peshawar blastMarch 15, 2016
KARACHI: At least 16 people were killed and 55 others injured in a powerful blast that ripped through a bus carrying government employees, here on Wednesday morning.
The bus was transporting government employees to the provincial secretariat when the bomb exploded in it on Sonahiri Masjid road area. The bus was completely damaged in the blast. Police suspected it was a time-device bomb. The bomb spread panic in the area as injured raised hue and cry.
Heavy contingents of law enforcement agencies rushed to the scene, cordoned off the area and performed rescue operation. The bomb disposal squad also reached there. The bodies and injured were rushed to Lady Reading Hospital in the city, where condition of many injured was stated to be precarious.
The blast was loud as it shattered the windows of nearby buildings.
According to hospital sources, among those killed were Shahid Ali, 22, son of Qamar Ali, Mohammad Inam, 19, son of Akram Khan, Mohammad Hamid Jan, 32, son of Fida Mohammad, Arshad Ali, 36, son of Noor Mohammad, Shafiq, 38, son of Wazir Ahmed, Arshad Khan, 34, son of Wazir Dad, and Mohammad Riaz, 31, son of Faiz Mohammad.

Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday condemned blast in bus carrying government employees in Peshawar on Wednesday morning that killed several people and injured many more. Chairman PPP condemning the blast, said that incidents of terrorism and militancy have not and will not weaken the resolve to fight the militants to the finish. Bilawal offered his deepest condolences to the bereaved families, prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and speedy recovery to those injured.
