24 Karachi schools attend space science quiz

KARACHI: At least 24 schools of Karachi were tested for their knowledge of Space Science, Space Mathematics and General Sciences in a school Quiz Competition during the second day of World Space Week 2015.

The World Space Week 2015 has been celebrated by Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) in the metropolis from October 5.

On 6th October 2015, the celebrations include Quiz Competition and Sky Simulation shows were held at SUPARCO Headquarters and PIA Planetarium, simultaneously.

A team of 2 students participated in quiz competition from each school for a day long competition.

The school including Al Badar Higher School, Ali School of Academic Excellence, Al-Murtaza School Senior Boys Branch, Bahria Foundation College Nazimabad, Beaconhouse School System, BVS High School, Haq Foundation School and others participated in the competition.

Meanwhile, Sky simulation show was organized at PIA Planetarium in which at least four hundred schoolchildren took part. At the program different informative videos were exhibited for the students and experts from SUPARCO facilitated students by explaining the videos in an easy-to-understand manner.

It may be noted that the show of Sky simulation will be continued till the end of World Space Week 2015 Celebrations.
