26 minor girls belonging to Bajur recovered

KARACHI: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Central Noman Siddique said on that police have recovered 26 girls aged between eight to 10 years, belonging to Bajaur agency, when they conducted raid on a house in Liaquabad’s C-1 area.

These girls were brought to Karachi from Bajaur Agency and were being kept in a building called a seminary. Police say these girls will be sent back to their houses safely.

SSP Noman Siddique said that he has talked to the Governor K-P over this issue and girls will not be handed over to anyone except their parents after proper verification.

The girls, who have been shifted to a shelter home, will be handed over to their brothers if parents not present, the SSP said.

It is said that a female seminary teacher Hamida was caretaker of these girls in Karachi and she left these girls in a house of her debtor in Liaquatabad. However, further probe was under way.
