28000 cops to be deployed on 12th Rabi-ul-Awal

KARACHI: Police on Wednesday finalized the security arrangements related to the 12 Rabi-ul-Awal processions. As many as 4850 cops will provide security to the central procession, and overall more than 28000 cops will perform security duty.

According to a release, two companies of Rapid Response Force, three companies of Special Security Unite and 2000 cops of Police Training Center Saeedabad, Police Training Center Razzaqabad, SRP, Anti Encroachment Cell and Crime Branch will perform security duties on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.

According to Police plan, 28933 cops have been deployed for security of 1115 ceremonies and 515 processions in the metropolis. However, 571 police van and 574 cops on motorcycles will be engaged in patrolling and snap checking.

As many as 6439 cops will perform their duties for security of 226 processions and 645 ceremonies in West zone. 3531 cops for 81 processions and 82 ceremonies in South Zone and 18963 cops for 208 processions and 388 ceremonies in East Zone.

Survey of all buildings in the areas of processions and congregations has already been completed and concerned SHOs asked to continue patrolling, checking and deployment. They are also asked to remain in contact with wireless control rooms and command and control system of CPO office.
