325,000 to appear in SSC exam starting from 2nd AprilMarch 30, 2014
KARACHI: Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) informed on Sunday that SSC Annual Examination 2014 Science and General Groups (Regular and Private) is scheduled to be held from Wednesday, 2 to 22 April 2014.
In a release, it said approximately 325,000 candidates will appear in the examination among those 137,708 in X Science (boys 76,701 & girls 61,007); 136,075 in Class IX Science Group (boys 74,937 and girls 61,138); 14,674 in Class X General Group (Regular) (boys 4,058 and girls 10,616 ); 18,239 in Class IX General Group (regular) (boys 4,356 and girls 13,883) and 17,569 in Class IX-X General Group (private) (boys 11,176 and girls 6,393)
In total, 295 Examination Centers (boys 157 and girls 138) have been made in this regard. Among these, five centers has been set up in government colleges. Moreover, two open centers for those candidates who submit their examination forms late and 47 reserve centers have been set up in 18 towns of Karachi.
An examination centre has also been set up at Central Jail, Karachi for prisoner candidates. Nineteen special vigilance teams under the supervision of the board officers have also been formed to inspect the examination centers, while 371 CCOs (Centre Control Officers) will deliver the sealed cover packets of question papers to all the examination Centers in the morning and afternoon shifts.
An Examination Reporting Cell has been established in Board of Secondary Education, Karachi (Room No. 19, Ground Floor, Block B) under the supervision of Abdul Fahim Khan to attend and solve the complaints received from examination centers, vigilance officers, CCOs, teachers, parents, students and public etc.

The Managing Director of Karachi Electric Supply Corporation has also been requested to avoid load shedding during the examination/paper timing.
Use of mobile phone will not be allowed in the examination centers.
Section 144 will be imposed during the examination. External Centre Superintendents will be posted at sensitive examination centers.
Director of School Education, Karachi, will also pay surprise visits at different examination centers.
