4mn children to get administered polio drops in 14 districts

KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Monday said that campaign against polio has launched in 14 districts of Sindh from 12 October to 15 October and during drive four million children under 5 years will be covered.

This he said in a statement issued here. He said anti polio drive has launched in Hyderabad, Larkana, Dadu, Jamshoro , Sangar, Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, N. Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad, Khairpur and Kamber from 12 October and will continue till 15 October.

He said that in Karachi, 93130 children in Baldia, 120,553 children in Bin Qasim, 71,446 children in Gadap, 63,735 children in Gulberg, 91,628 children in Gulshan e Iqbal, 30,140 children in Keamari, 57,643 children in Korangi, 36,033 children in Landhi, 28,433 children in Liaquatabad, 30,643 children in Malir, 17288 children in North Nazimabad, 45,764 in North Karachi, 92,498 children in Orangi, 7,381 children in Saddar and 1,20,273 children in SITE had been administered polio drops.

He said drive against dengue has been extended to all districts of Sindh and having completed first phase, the second phase will be launched soon.
