50 schools of Bahria Foundation join Badminton Tournament

KARACHI: Bahria Foundation organized Inter Regional Badminton tournament among three regions of North, South & Centre.More than 50 schools of Bahria Foundation participated in the tournament. It started in the month of September and ended at the end of October 2014. Director General Bahria Education & Training, Commodore Mohammad Zafar Iqbal graced the occasion as a chief guest.

Deputy Managing Director Bahria Foundation Commodore Mohammad Javed Ghani, EDET Commander Azha Anees, Commander Shafqat ,Commander S Aitzaz Husain and Lt Commander Arshad Mehmood attended the function with a large number of Principals of different colleges and students.

The final tournament was organized under the supervision of Mrs Syeda Aarifa Mohsin, the principal of BFC Satellite Town campus. Students of BFCs North and Centre reached into finals. Muneeba Siddiqui and Noor ul Huda of BFC Satellite Town won Girls Single and Girls Double, While Miss Maryam Safdar and Midhat Barkat from Centre, were Runner up.

In boys single, Shaheer Arsahd of BFC Wah, North was winner and in Boys Double, Shoaib Baig and Talha of Centre were Winner. Shields were awarded to the winners and runner ups.

Bahria Foundation North won Inter Regional Badminton trophy. Runner up trophy was won by center Region.

Chief guest highly appreciated the skills and hard work of the students as badminton players and congratulated the winners of the championship.

He said Bahria Foundation provides full support and all opportunities to the students to excel in academics and co-curricular activities. He emphasized on physical activities of students and said a physically fit child can produce excellent results in all fields. He said in future the competitions in different games would be held regularly. He also appreciated the overall arrangements made by BFC Satellite Town RWP.
