70% male Pakistanis claim they said their Friday prayers in a mosque, PollMarch 24, 2014
Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 70% male Pakistanis claim they said their Friday prayers in a mosque.
A nationally representative sample of adult men, from across the four provinces was asked “Please tell us, were you able to say your Friday prayers at mosque or not?” Responding to this, 70% said yes whereas 30% replied no.
Following up, those who replied they were able to say their Friday prayers in a mosque were further asked, “How much time did you spend at the mosque?” In response, 53% said less than half an hour; 32% said between half an hour and an hour and 14% said more than one hour
The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1459 men in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Feb 24, 2014 – Mar 03, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
