KARACHI: An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday handed over killer of 120 people, Umair Siddiqui, alleged worker Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to police on 10-day physical remand in a double murder case.
The accused was produced before ATC by Gulshan-e-Maymar police after it received his custody from the Rangers after expiry of his 90-day preventive detention. Investigation officer requested the court to grant physical remand of the accused as he is required for further questioning. The court accepted the police’s request and handed over Siddiqui to them on physical remand for 10 days.
According to rangers’ press release issued earlier, the suspect, Umair Siddiqui formed a team of target-killers which killed as many as 120 people. The suspect was also involved in rigging during the general elections of 2013, adding 60 to 70 workers cast fake votes for their party candidate on PS-126.
