Accused remand extended in explosives case

Karachi: An Anti-Terrorism Court-I (ATC-I) on Tuesday extended the remand of an accused Sohail to police custody till 3 October 2014 in explosive material case.

Police produced the accused before ATC-I under tight security.

The Investigation Officer requested the court that police needed his further investigation and physical custody to map out his connections.

The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to police custody till 3 October.

According to police, accused was arrested on 15 September within the jurisdiction of Shahrah-e-Faisal police station.

Police claimed to have seized a hand grenade and a TT pistol from the accused possession.

An FIR 616/2014 was registered under Section 4/5 of the Explosive Substance Act at the Shahrah-e-Faisal police station.
