Accused remand extended in illicit weapons case

KARACHI: An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday extended the remand of an accused, Muhammad Shahid, to police custody till 26 January 2015 in illegal weapon possession case.

Police produced all the accused before ATC judge under tight security. Investigation officer requested the court that police needed his further physical custody to trace his connections and map out his involvement in other criminal activities. The court accepted the police request and extended the remand of the accused to police custody for eight days.

According to prosecution, the police arrested the accused on 12 January in Baldia town and seized illicit weapons from his possession. The FIR was lodged against the accused at Ittihad police station.
