Accused remanded to police in murder case

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court-II (ATC-II) on Thursday remanded an accused, Abdur Rasheed, to police custody till 3 December 2014 in murder case.

Police produced the accused before ATC-II judge amid tight security.

Investigation officer requested the court to allow the physical remand of accused as the police wanted to investigate him and the whereabouts of his accomplices, Tariq, Nadeem, Shahid, Zeeshan and Zahid in this case so as to arrest them. The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to their custody for 14 days.

According to prosecution, the accused with his accomplices was involved in murder of Mohammad Usman on 8 November 2014 near Noorani Mosque Sector 5G New Karachi .

The case FIR 325/2014 was registered under Section 302 (premeditated murder), 367 (kidnapping or abducting in order to subject person to grievous hurt, slavery) and 34 (common intention) Act of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act at New Karachi Industrial police station.
