Acting IG attends funeral prayer of martyred SI

KARACHI: The funeral prayer of Sub-Inspector Muhammed Rafiq, son of Muhammed Sardar, who was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the jurisdiction of Baghdadi police station, was offered at Police Headquarters in Garden. A special unit of police presented salute to the martyred cop.

Acting IG Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamali, Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo, DIG Traffic Police Karachi Sain Rakhyo Mirani, DIGs west, south and other centers and senior police officers attended the funeral prayer.

The acting IG Sindh expressed condolence with the relatives of the martyr. He also announced to give job to a person from the heirs in police. He said Rs2 million grant and monthly wages until the age of retirement/ 60 years would be given to the family of the martyr.

According to a Karachi police report, from the start of the following year 96 policemen have been embraced martyrdom yet. Of them 24 cops were killed in January, 19 in February, 5 in March, 9 in May, 21 in June and 9 in July.
