KARACHI: Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhter Farooqui said that charity began at home. If we ourselves improved our lives, home and environment then it would up-bring an excellent and exemplary society. We needed to work in an effective manner to save our people from drugs.

He expressed these views while addressing as chief guest in the seminar held by the Anti-Narcotics Welfare Organization in Z.A. Nizami Auditorium of Civic Centre on Tuesday.

Those who spoke during the seminar include Abdul Haseeb Khan, Dr Tariq Arain, Dr Mohammad Tariq Khan, Najma Hafeez, Gulfaraz Ahmed Khan, Colonel Majid Shirazee, and Amin Yousuf.

The administrator said Karachi Metropolitan Corporation had allocated 10 beds in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treating drug addicts, whereas other centers were also operating in other KMC run hospitals for drug control.

He said the drug usage had created many problems for the whole society and those organizations which indulge in the serious efforts for controlling were praiseworthy.
