Afghan Consul General meets Governor

QUETTA: Pakistan and Afghanistan are brotherly neighbouring countries having historic, cultural and economic relations while Pakistan desires to further cement these relations.

This was stated by Balochistan Governor Mohammad Khan Achakzai while welcoming Afghan Consul General Waheedullah Momand at Governor House here Thursday.

Governor said for sustainable peace and economic development mutual cooperation between two countries is very much necessary.

H expressed satisfaction that political and military elderships’ visits were yielding positive impacts. He said terrorism and terrorist elements can be defeated due to mutual efforts and cooperation of Pakistan and Afghanistan which would reduce men and material losses to great extent.

Afghan Consul General Waheedullah Momand sympathized with Governor over those killed in Mastung incident.

He apprised Governor of difficulties traders and businessmen were facing with regard to Afghan Transit trade. Provision of freight train from Karachi to Chaman also came under discussion between the two. Governor Balochistan assured cooperation for resolving problems and difficulties being faced by Afghan traders.

At their meeting they also exchanged views on overall situation of the region and matter of mutual interest.
