AIG chairs meeting in wake of fresh killings of cops

KARACHI: Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi, Ghulam Qadir Thebo, chaired a meeting in Central Police Office in wake of fresh killings of police personnel in terrorist attacks, here on Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by DIGs of East, West and South zones, including DIG CIA and SSPs in which the law & order situation of city was discussed. While taking notice of killings of police personnel, AIG passed directions to ensure even better safety of cops.

He recommended deployment of police personnel on a least two bikes in the jurisdictions of all police stations for patrolling. Moreover, he said that measures were being taken to ensure supply of bulletproof jackets to all police stations. He instructed police to secure the available stock of arms and ammunitions in its possession.

He further instructed to ensure Anti Riots Force operational at zonal and district level to control law and order situation during emergency in the city and briefing from it regarding security responsibilities.

He urged that all relatives of police martyrs should be given departmental privileges on urgent basis and every possible measure to ensure the welfare of martyred families.
