AIGP orders strict security on Eid

KARACHI: Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo on Thursday instructed DIGs to take extraordinary security measures for Eid-ul-Fitr in the city and increase checking of motorcyclists.

Thebo said that efficient use of manpower should be ensured for removing target killings and street crimes. He instructed officials to increase intelligence collection and sharing at police station level.

AIGP said that to prevent policemen’s target killing, two police mobile and motorcycle squad each should be deployed for patrolling and snap checking at every police station in Karachi.

He said DIGs should set schedules for meeting with the families of police martyrs and ensure departmental facilities for education of their children, health and other problems.
