AJK govt. devises strategy to overcome energy crisis

Islamabad: The AJK Government has adopted a comprehensive strategy to harness the hydropower potential of the state to overcome energy crisis. In an interview Altaf Andrabi, Managing Director AJK Power Development Organization Mushtaq Ahmed said water resources with the generating capacity of eight thousand six hundred and seventy-two Megawatt electricity have been identified in the state.

Of these projects of forty-four point six seven (44.67) megawatt have been completed. He said that eight hydel power projects of one hundred fifty point six (150.6) megawatt will start this year and completed by December 2017. He said the construction work on 48 MW Jagran Phase-II projects will start within a month.
