Akbar Kumaili’s alleged killer sent on physical remand

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday handed over an accused Nasir alias Dhobi to police on physical remand for his alleged involvement in killing of Allama Akbar Kumaili.

Allama Akbar Kumaili, son of scholar Allama Abbas Kumaili was critically injured when assailants attacked his car near Bhangoria Goth in Azizabad on 6th September 2014. He was shifted to nearest hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

Police produced the accused before the ATC judge under tight security. The investigation officer requested the court to allow physical remand of the accused as he is required for investigation to trace out his connections. The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to them on physical custody till 22nd July 2015.
