KARACHI: On 11 August 2014, Amnesty International will launch a major new report on civilian casualties by US forces in Afghanistan. According to a release issued by Amnesty International from London, despite the thousands of civilians who have been killed at the hands of US forces since 2001, Afghan victims and family members have been left without compensation and justice. The report, which is based on in-depth case studies where civilians have apparently been killed by US troops, examines in detail the deeply flawed US military justice system that cements a culture of impunity.

The report will be launched with a press conference in Kabul on 11 August, which will be attended by Amnesty International staff as well as victims and their family members. Spokespeople are available in Kabul, London and New York City.
