LAHORE: Al Mustafa Welfare Trust-UK (AMWT) operated about 370 cataract patients and screened out more than 2500 patients during the free eye camps drive. These eye camps were held in the different parts of Pakistan and Kashmir.
Chairman AMWT Abdul Razzaq Sajid said that during a free eye camp at Al Mustafa Complex in Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir some 143 patients were operated, 112 surgeries were conducted at Darya Khan of District Bhakkar and 120 surgeries at Pir Mahal of District Toba Tek Singh. Al- Mustafa arranged free medicines, lenses, eye-sight glasses, food and accommodation for the needy and poor patients.
The visiting Chairman of AMWT Abdul Razzaq Sajid distributed medicines and glasses among all the patients after successful surgeries. He said Al- Mustafa was supporting the largest drive of free eye camps in Pakistan and Kashmir and eye camps were being set up in the backward and far-flung areas where local community has not access to medical facilities.
He further said that Al- Mustafa was providing free facilities of medicines, lenses, food, accommodation, glasses and surgeries for the deserving people. Al – Mustafa was working in 20 countries of Asia, Middle East, Africa and other parts of the world and we would operate some 10,000 cataract patients during next one year, he added.
