Analysis: (Pakistan successes in war against terrorism are vital for regional peace: Analysts)

ISLAMABAD: Defence analysts have said that successes of Pakistan in its war against terrorism had cast positive impact for peace in the region.

Speaking in a Radio programme on Sunday, they said the US annual Congressionally mandated Country Report on Terrorism 2014 is very important. They said the Report acknowleged that as a result of Operation Zarb-e-Azb, the graph of terrorism has come down considerably in the country.

Former Director General ISPR Major General (r) Athar Abbas said the United States wants that Pakistan and Afghanistan work together and take steps for peace and stability in the region.

He said America is well aware of negative role being played by India in this regard. He said the United States should use its influence on India to stop it from interfering in Pakistan.

Defence anlayst Mohammad Khan said the US report on terrorism has praised Pakistan’s war on terrorism, particularly Operation

Zarb-e-Azb. He said it is for the first time that the US has acknowledged ground reality. Similarly, many other defence analysts also expressed the same views.
