Peshawar: Awami National Party on Monday rejected the resolution about formation of Hazara province and said  renaming Khyber Pukhtunkhwa as Hazara Pukhtunkhwa would also send  a negative message to the people of tribal belt.

Talking to media former information minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that his party would not allow to further divide  Khyber Pukhtunkhwa. With the new name  the particular identity of Hazara did not affect  as at the time the province was  NWFP,  Hazara had its own  identity after renaming the province as Khyber Pukhtunkhwa the  identity of Hazara  remained the same, he observed.

Mian Iftikhar said Hazara is the integral part of the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa and they consider it should remain part of the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa.

Mian Iftikhar said that there are many important issues that confronting the country therefore government should focus on solution of these issues, among which  restoration of peace and eradication of terrorism is very crucial.

He said Pukhtuns have already been divided in so many parts therefore there is a need to unite Pukhtuns and the creation of new provinces is necessary then  Mian Wali, Hazro, Shadi Khan and area up  to Jhelum must be made part of Pukhtunkhwa.
