Anti-polio drive in Larkana from Dec 17

LARKANA: As many as 315,957 under five children will be administered anti-polio drops in entire Larkana district during the current three-day campaign kicked off here today. The drive will continue till December 17.

The Focal Person, Dr Abdul Wahid Tagar, told PPI that as many as 740 teams had been constituted, out of which 612 are mobile members who will go house to house and administer anti-polio drops to children. He said that 49 transit teams will dispense polio drops to all incoming and outgoing children along roads and bus stands.

He said 53 UCMOs and 138 area incharges had also been deployed to strictly monitor the working of the teams. Dr. Tagar said that they were more conscious this time because in our surrounding districts, there were five positive cases, one each at Sukkur, Kambar and Khairpur districts and two in Dadu district. Dr Tagar said that there is no sensitive area in entire Larkana district.
