APA asks tribal journalists to work for welfare of the tribesmen

Peshawar: Assistant Political Agent, Landi Kotal, Mohammad Nasir Khan has called upon the tribal journalists community to play their due role to portray a soft image of Fata to the world. He stressed upon the tribal media persons to work for establishment of durable peace in the tribal belt.

He expressed these views while speaking at the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected cabinet of Landi Kotal press club. The program was held at Jirga hall, Landi Kotal on Wednesday.

APA Landi Kotal congratulated the new office bearers of the press club and said that media reports will provide him a guideline to initiate pro-people activities in the area. We welcome constructive criticism on administration and it will end weaknesses being made by administration, Nasir added.

The journalism is an honourable profession which should be utilized for the welfare of humanity. Urging the tribal journalists the assistant political agent said that they should play a bridging role between the government and people.

Prior to it, the newly elected President, Akmal Khan Qadri in his address apprised the APA of the problems being faced by the local journalists while fulfilling their professional duties and asked for construction of Landi Kotal press club.

Senior tribal journalist Ibrahim Shinwari, TUJ, Khyber Agency president Qazi Fazlullah, Malik Razzaq, Muqthader Shah, Nadeem Afridi and Qari Said Alam also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, APA Landi Kotal administered oath to the newly elected cabinet of Landikotal press club.
