APC decides to stage Gaza Million March on 17 AugustAugust 10, 2014
KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi on Monday held all parties conference (APC) at Idara Noor-e-Haq against Israeli attacks on Palestinians in Gaza. The APC passed resolution condemning the attacks on innocent Palestinians and decided to stage Gaza Million March on 17 August 2014 in Karachi to show solidarity with the people of Palestinians.
The representatives of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM), Awami National Party (ANP), National People’s Party (NPP), Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) and others participated in APC.
Addressing APC, JI Karachi Amir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said Israel had occupied Gaza where 2000 Palestinians, including women and children, were martyred. He claimed the United Nations (UN) and other humanitarian organizations were showing their silent role on the issue of Gaza, while the United States was supporting Israel in aggression.
“We should not forget victims of Gaza in this political situation of Pakistan, and in this connection, JI is holding Million March on Shahrah-e-Faisal on 17 August.
Minority leader Sardar Heera Singh said that Palestinians had been victimized but the government of Pakistan was not showing its interest to play role for securing Palestinians.
He paid tribute to Saeeda Warsi for quitting the post of the ministry on Gaza issue.
Singh said he always represented himself on all humanitarian issues weather it related to Muslims, Hindus, or Christian.
President PPP Karachi Abdul Qadir Patel said that Palestinian issue should be resolved amicably.
Amjad Farooq, a representative of Christians community, said that Christians had always raised the voice against any attack on Muslims in every part of the world. He showed solidarity with people of Palestine and also announced to participate in the rally on 17th August.
MWM leader Allama Ali Qarar Naqvi said he felt that humanity was silent on issue of Palestine.
JUP leader Dr Siddique Rathore said the United Nations, Organization of Islamic Conference and other humanitarian organizations were not playing their due roles for resolving Palestine issue.
NPP leader Syed Zia Abbas said that bombing on defenceless Palestinian had showed that the enthusiasm of humanity had ended.
Noted scholar Allama Abbas said every community had protested against Israel, but none of any Muslim leader had raised this issue at international level in true sense.
JUI leader Qazi Ahmed Noorani said it was our duty to raise the voice for Palestinians. We should tell the world that Muslims are alive and could safeguard themselves.
Mirza Yousuf Hussain said it was the conspiracy to topple Morsi government. We should think beyond the sectarianism on the issue of Palestine.
PML-N leader Saleem Zia said we demand of OIC to break their silence and play due role for securing people of Palestine.
JI leader Naimatullah Khan said Israel should end the bombing on Palestinians in Gaza. All Muslims of the world are with the people of Palestine, he added.
