Army leads points table on day one of National Taekwondo C’ship

Karachi: Defending champions Army displayed its supremacy on the first day of National Taekwondo Championship, winning all eight events on the day on Monday at Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad.

Eight different categories of Poomsae events were held and Army players managed to clinch gold medals in all of the events.

Army’s nearest rival is WAPDA, which secured three silver and five bronze medals. Railway stood at third place on the table with three silver and as many bronze medals.

Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) is organizing this championship, which is scheduled to conclude on September 17.

Approximately 400 players and 35 officials from all over the country are participating in the event. Six international referees, duly qualified from World Taekwondo Federation, are conducting this championship.
