Peshawar: Chief of Awami National Party (ANP) Asfandyar Wali Khan has suggested the government to avoid becoming party in Yemen War adding that nation still facing the bad  effects of becoming part of Afghan War.

Addressing media at Bilour House on Tuesday ANP chief said without meddling in other’s war  it would be better for the government to become neutral otherwise result of backing  a side in the war would be very negative for Pakistan.

“ we have always raised voice  not to interfere in others’ matters and doing so today not to become party of Yemen war,” he said adding ANP would not support any side involved in war in Yemen.

Talking about local government election in Khyber Pukhunkhwa, he said this election should be contested on party base wondering that PTI chief has been demanding Local Bodies election at party basis in other province but his party is conducting the same in this province on non-party base.

Showing concerns about the fairness of the election in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, ANP chief said there are many ambiguities in Local Government law in Khyber Pukhtukhwa therefore delaying results of the elections for 10 days would further stigmatize the election process.

About Sawlat Mirza’s statement, he said there is no legal position of such statements therefore a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) must be constituted to probe the allegation Sawlat Mirza has raised in his statement.
